Special Services

The Westfield Police Department’s Special Services Division is led by Captain Josh Harrell. The Special Services division is focused on keeping our department and officers prepared, equipped, and ready to support the community in every way we can. Special Services handles the behind-the-scenes work that ensures officers have the training, tools, and resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Key areas of the division include:

• Training: We coordinate both in-house training for our officers and external hosted-training opportunities for outside agencies, providing a venue and opportunities for our neighboring law enforcement officers.
• Special Events & Planning: From local community events to national spectacles and large gatherings, we plan, coordinate and execute safety measures so these events run smoothly.
• Fleet & Equipment Operations: We make sure department vehicles and specialized equipment are state-of-the-art, well-maintained, safe, and ready for use every day.

By focusing on training, planning, and equipment readiness, the Special Services Division helps the Westfield Police Department provide excellent service to our community every day.
