Mobile Food Vendors

Do you want to sell food from a mobile vehicle in the City of Westfield? You’ll first need to obtain a Mobile Food Vendor License to operate within city limits. This was established under Ordinance 24-67, which took effect on January 1, 2025. As defined by the ordinance, a mobile food vehicle is any motorized, wheeled, or towed vehicle used to store, prepare, display, or serve food or beverages. The fee is $150, but it reduces to $100 after June 30th. Renewals for the following calendar year are $100. A Mobile Food Vendor License is valid during the year it is issued from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st.

Please submit a fully completed application with the listed requirements to the Community Development Department, planners@westfield.in.gov, at least fourteen (14) days prior to the proposed date of operating the mobile food vehicle.

Hosting Events

If you are hosting an event open to the public where either a mobile food vendor is present or sales are taking place, you are required to have a Temporary Use and Event Permit. Rules and regulations can be found in Ordinance 24-47. The fee is either $150 for a one-time event or $150 for a reoccurring permit. If you plan on having more than two events in a calendar year, the reoccurring permit is valid for a period of three years.
