Weather Policy - Rain or Shine!

The Westfield Farmers Market (WFM) is a rain-or-shine market. We're committed to being open during our scheduled days and hours to support both our customers and our hard-working vendors who prepare extensively and often travel great distances to participate.

However, the health and safety of our customers, vendors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. We closely monitor weather conditions, and our policy is based on the best available information we have at the time a decision must be made on how to respond to inclement weather.

  • If a severe weather threat occurs prior to the opening of the Market, and there is reason to believe the threat will persist through the evening, the Market may be canceled or delayed.
  • If severe weather conditions develop after the Market has opened, customers will be advised (via speaker announcement) to leave Grand Junction Plaza and seek shelter in their vehicles.
  • Summer storms are often brief, and in most cases, the Market will temporarily pause and re-open once the weather clears and it is safe to resume operations. However, if a storm persists or conditions remain unsafe for an extended period, the Market may close for the remainder of the evening.
  • In all cases, if the Market is canceled, delayed, suspended, reopened or closed for the remainder of the market day, a notification will be posted on Facebook and Instagram with updates about the status of the Market.
